Hi Everyone. Been a while...
We live in interesting times right now. There is a global behavioural shift happening all because of this nanoscale warrior that barley classifies as a living thing. Covid-19 has disrupted the world faster and more efficiently than almost any other thing in the last few decades.
All of the news and social media out there about the virus is scary, and rightfully so. But it's important to stay informed about the facts, and I'm here to help arm you with them through this pandemic.
Below is a report that highlights Covid-19's Global, Canadian and Ontarian reach. There are plenty of visuals out there tasked with doing the same, but this is mine. It's a static report because I'm not rich enough to afford a license for the software I use (thanks work!).
Data is accumulated daily from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, the Canadian government's outbreak update site and Ontario's Data Catalog.
Take a look and enjoy! Leave any questions or suggestions in the comments and I'll try to address them!

Global cases are starting to steady out however, US cases have skyrocketed since the outbreak began and continue to see the highest growth in cases and deaths.
As shown, Ontario and Quebec were hit the hardest in Canada, while other provinces have either fully recovered by now or are working towards full recovery. Quebec continues to struggle with high case counts and deaths with each passing day.
Ontario seems at this point to be around the peak of their epidemic. Cases are no longer growing exponentially however, they are still far from a point of relaxation. The province is stating it will begin opening businesses but based on the data, it appears slightly early and a high risk of a second growth of cases is expected.
This chart aligns all countries' journeys through Covid-19 and the cumulative case counts on a logarithmic scale. It shows when certain places were able to "Flatten the Curve" while some countries are still seeing high growth rates. China's fast and hard lockdown was quite effective, as was South Korea's quick and wide-ranging testing. The USA was too slow to react causing massive exponential growth.
I hope you learned something from this data. Remember to isolate, wash your hands and keep for distance when isolation isn't possible; even after restrictions have been loosened or lifted. The virus isn't gone until a vaccine is globally available.
