Polarsteps is done tracking my trip, but the journey is still here if you'd like to check it out!
If you missed any of the series, check it out on my social media feeds or on my blog homepage. The last post is right here!
I can't say that this finale will be very spectacular. I do however want to share some of the things I learned through my time in Europe and coming home after such a trip.
Venice, my final stop, is something special. It's unique, and after so many big cities and subways and buses, the uniqueness of taking a boat around the city is just fun. I never took the overpriced gondola ride or boat cabs, and I don't feel that you need to because the boat-bus was awesome. A 48-hour pass is relatively cheap and I had a blast boating around the city. It does take a long time to get around though, so you need to keep that in mind!
The city is unfortunately sinking and eventually will cease to exist. About 1000 locals leave the city each year. So if you have a chance to go, I do recommend it. I don't think more than a day or two is necessary though. But the city has its moments.
After leaving Venice and a long time on trains, I arrived back at my buddy's place. It was a great chance to catch up on sleep and start applying to jobs for when I got back home. We met up with some friends from school who live in Germany. It was truly great to see them again. If you guys are reading this, good luck with everything and I hope to see you all again soon!
My flight back home was pretty smooth. Few movies and TV shows and we landed. This past weekend was a huge reunion with friends and family (thanks for hosting that mom & dad!) and I had a blast seeing everyone again. The job hunt continues and new adventures are to come.
Some tips:
I had an amazing time on my trip, and I can't wait until I find my next destination.
I guess now that this series is over, I'm going to have to think of some new content for this blog. Uh oh...
Here's my video!
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more!

Some tips:
- Go traveling!
- It's such a rewarding experience meeting people from all around the world. You learn so much from them, about yourself, and about the rest of the world.
- Keep a journal.
- I am so happy I wrote these blogs and had pictures and video to remember everything with. I was away for so long and did so many new things that I began to lose track of things fairly quickly. But the content I made while traveling will let me relive the memories forever and that is the best thing you can bring home with you.
- Share your adventure with friends and family.
- Traveling can get lonely sometimes, just because you're thousands of miles away from home, doesn't mean you can't stay in touch or let people follow along with your travels! Polarsteps was great for that.
- Don't be cheap, but have a budget.
- Money can be tight when traveling and you have to keep that in mind. But don't miss out on things because it was too expensive.
