Just an update, and some hating on Apple

So finally I had a couple days break. And I have food now so if you were worried about me starving, you need not continue.

You may be wondering how finals went? Well fuck they were not easy. I'm mostly sure, like 96% sure that I passed both courses. Barley, but passed. Won't know for a month though. Yeah, how stupid is that? Well, time to forget about my lackluster marks in July and move on to August, which I'm hearing is a little less difficult.

I'm sure you all will be happy to know I vegged the shit out of this weekend and played like 5 hours of Xbox Saturday. AND got a bit ahead in the new math course! That's right, Jay taking the initiative. That doesn't happen often with school so you're basically seeing a miracle... through my blog post at least. We'll see how long that lasts.

I'm also playing chess against this spanish guy over the internet and well, let's say I'm a little rusty. Oh, I guess I should mention I know him... But yeah it's a better break/distraction than xbox or countless youtube videos. I kind of just put this here to see if he sees it. Yeah, pretty sneaky, unlike my chess game.

This is kind of a boring blog. Mostly because I completely did nothing but study last week and veg this weekend, so I guess its been a boring few days. Why am I describing my boring life to the internet? Ugh, Jay.

I find it more difficult to write stuff every time I sit down to do so. I mean I could write about things I have no idea about or no interest in looking up, like the ridiculousness of Donald Trump running for president. Do people take him seriously? Like ever? I unfortunately missed his debate but like, its Donald fucking Trump. He can't be serious.

I could also discuss the how awesome Windows 10 is but like most major software updates, It's really cool for 2 hours and then it's just, well, the same fucking thing. Although, the voice assistant Cortana is pretty cool, way better than Siri mostly because Apple just sucks. Funny story about that actually! The electronics teacher I have for this month confessed he's an apple fan, and everyone looked at each other in somewhat of disgust. Or maybe I imagined it.. whatever, if we didn't, we should have. His reason, like most other people was, "it just works".

Let's talk about that. Maybe you didn't hear, but Apple products work the exact same as other operating systems. Just spend the time in the learning curve and poof what do you know, it's the same thing. They may have been new and eccentric in a flaming sort of way 5 to 10 years ago, but the playing field has surpassed Apple in almost every way for less cost. Even the 'no virus' thing claimed by loyal Apple fans was shattered last week with basically the worst virus seen in a while. And I hope it actually infects some Mac users, not because I'm mean, but so they learn they're shiny multi thousand dollar machine is not any different than an equally good, half the price, windows machine. And well, a little because I'm mean. I do have to hand it to Apple though, their brainwashing.. sorry... I mean marketing techniques are im-fucking-pressive. That's enough about that because I could go for hours about my disgust for Apple as a company. Their hardware is good, their ecosystem is good, but their morals are pitiful.

Well, that's all for now. I'm hungry, and have more than instant noodles now!

Until next time internet.

Euroblog Part 7

This series ended up being far longer than I anticipated. I could make an ebook about my travels! Who am I kidding, no one would want to read that... let alone buy it. Also, side note: Polarsteps was so great up until a couple days ago when it went haywire and threw a bunch of phantom travel paths on my map. Support said it has been fixed however, there was no way to remove the phantom lines. This all makes for a ton of work for me to redo all of the travel steps. It's unfortunate but I understand these things happen. Anyway, it's all updated now and working as it should, sorry to my 7000  7 followers for any inconvenience. Now that it's all back to normal, here is the link if you'd like to check out my trip! If you missed any of the series, check it out on my social media feeds or on my blog homepage. The last post is right here! July 22 2017 Wow, am I ever behind on this. [Left off in Florence] So I went up the massive dome of the Florence Cathedral...

Tim Hortons: An In-depth Review

As I sit here pretending to be a scriptwriter at a budget Starbucks  Tim Hortons, feeling slightly out of place, I write this review. This will be an attempt at a new series on my blog, since I've been dry with ideas since returning to Canada. Tim Hortons is a Canadian classic coffee shop turned fast food restaurant while still retaining its coffeeshop status. Apparently, it used to be excellent until they changed coffee beans, but that was before my coffee drinking days so I and most people around my age probably feel the same (we don't feel anything about the changed beans). It also used to be cheap, but since high-status coffee shops like the aforementioned Starbucks and Second Cup somehow get away with charging 10$ for a drink, the friendly neighborhood Canadian brand jacks prices to compete. At least it still has its loyal customers. Fun fact, the first Tim's restaurant was in my hometown of Hamilton! It's also the usual go-to spot for a quick bathroom brea...

"Creative yet Clickbaity Title on Solar Energy!"

In the last post, I talked about what the Sun was. A giant nuclear fusion reactor. And since it is so good at being the Sun, it not only provides heat to our Earth, but also light. Lots of light. Hopefully, this isn't news to you (yikes!). Light is an interesting thing we very much take for granted. Look around, there is light in the room you're in, light coming from the screen you're reading this on (unless you're psycho and still print things..) and light from outside. Even at night! The light from the moon, isn't really light from the moon, but a reflection of light from the Sun. Did I just blow your mind? Probably not.. I guess I'm failing as a writer. There is a lot of light available, and all that light also carries energy, rather, it is energy. In reality, the light from your phone screen doesn't really have the potential to power anything, neither does a light bulb. But think about how many light bulbs it would take to equal the amount of light t...
