Ugh Politics, Well Not Really

Imagine my surprise waking up to one of the worst messages I've ever received. I can't say it was anything overly serious like a horrible accident or what most people would classify as horrible, but it was quite horrible to me, your friendly neighborhood internet junkie. Yes, I spend a large chunk of time surfing the net... what am I? from the 90's?.. I prefer to watch TV on the internet for obvious reasons (no commercials). YouTube, Xbox, Netflix and even TED Talks as of late. Now don't assume I'm some internet cat watching loser, although those fur-balls are somewhat enjoyable to watch, I spend most of my time learning. Yeah, I said learning. Back to my original predicament, this dreadful message from my landlord, a very nice lady, informed us that 85% of the data usage has been used. In 6 days. I'll allow you time to pick your chin back up off the desk. Out of an available 375 gigabytes per month, for those not so strong in math, we used almost 320 gigs. Le...

Sunday Thoughts..

As I lay on the basement floor listening to Lorde and watch my laundry spin, I have a chance to look back at my first week here at my new home. Training was and will be my life at work for the next month. There is an overwhelming amount of acronyms which hopefully will come in time. I mean everything is one major road and all within 10 or 15 minutes of driving. I may be exaggerating slightly, but the point remains its much smaller than what is 'normal' to me, but I think I am adjusting well. There is an awesom...

First Day In the Bag

Well here I am, sitting in a chair slightly too high for its desk, writing this blog post and looking forward to what the future brings in the next year. I'm excited to start this job, this experience.. damn leafs are losing 6-1.. The move was bearable and my awesome parents even picked up the first batch of groceries. My mom was more excited to organize my room than I was but she did quite the job. I can already see her video chatting me right in the middle.. Rangers scored again.. holy shit.. of my battlefield game but I can accept that. She is my Mom after all. I'm just glad she didn't move into the house next door. There are definetly some luxuries that I don't have access to here; discovery channel, high-def TV and an interactive cable guide to name a few but they are minor details in the scheme of things. I see this adventure as an opportunity to get back in shape, eat more healthy, and be an excellent employee. I want to learn as much as I can in the next year ...
